The UFC’s middleweight division is quickly getting it’s house in order once again with Chris Leben and Brian Stann being the latest 185lb’ers to be paired up together.

According to MMAJunkie we can expect to see the two battle it out at UFC 125 on January 1st.

After being close to being released from the promotion at the start of the year a resurgent Leben has since strung three wins together, including two in a remarkable two week spell between the TUF season 11 finale and UFC 116 shows.

That puts him back in the reckoning at middleweight, but not quite in the title picture yet.  Instead he’ll take on war hero turned MMA fighter Stann who made his middleweight debut in August at UFC On Versus 2, and claimed a win over Mike Massenzio.

A win over a fighter on the rise like Leben would put his name on the map in the division, and with both men preferring to exchange on the feet this looks to be an entertaining scrap.

UFC 125 also looks like being the likely landing spot for the middleweight’s next title fight between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort, whileNovember’s UFC 122 main event between Nate Marquardt Vs Yushin Okami will establish 185lb’s next No.1 contender.
