Former lightweight No.1 contender Gray Maynard will get back on the saddle and attempt to make his way back up to the summit of the 155lb division on June 22nd when he faces Clay Guida in Atlantic City at ‘UFC On FX 4′.

Last year Maynard featured in two “Fight Of The Year’ candidates with Frankie Edgar, just falling short of claiming the belt in their first meeting which was ruled a ‘split draw’, and then succumbing to a fourth round KO back in their October rematch, the first loss of his 13 fight career.

Meanwhile, Guida also featured in one of the best fights of 2011, losing by unanimous decision to Ben Henderson after a tooth and nail scrap to establish who would be the next man to fight for the title.

So, like Maynard, Guida is now looking to forge a new winning streak, and a win for either man here would certainly be significant, while a defeat would be a major blow to either man’s hopes of featuring in the title picture any time soon.

The fight will serve as the main event of the evening and as yet no other fights have been announced for the card.
