DaMarques Johnson Cut From The UFC After Latest Loss

DaMarques Johnson has revealed that he’s been cut from the UFC after his latest loss at ‘UFC On Fuel TV 5’.

“And the hits keep on coming… No longer a UFC fighter,” Johnson told his Twitter followers earlier today.

Johnson had been called in as a late replacement to fight Gunnar Nelson at the event in the UK late last month, but not only did he lose the bout by a first round rear-naked choke, but he also missed weight for the contest by 7lbs which Dana White later told reporters had angered matchmaker Joe Silva.

That may have been a contributing factor in Johnson being cut, but it shouldn’t disguise the fact that the former TUF season 9 finalist had been struggling to find form in the UFC for some time.

The 30 year-old had lost his last three fights, all within the last six months, and had an overall record of just 4-6 inside the Octagon.
