Dan Hardy has this morning announced to The Sun newspaper that he will now face welterweight top contender Mike Swick at UFC 105 in November after his original opponent Dong-Hyun Kim pulled out injured.

The tie is a shot in the arm for the UK card, headlined by Randy Couture Vs Brandon Vera,  which up until this point had been met with somewhat muted enthusiasm from the fans.  This new bout however should excite the British fans who will get to see one of their best prospects facing a top contender in Mike Swick.  Not only that, this could provide the fight of the night with both men capable of producing fireworks and happy to engage in a stand-up battle.

A win for Hardy would see him become one of the major fighters in the division, whilst a convincing victory for Swick may well be enough to ensure he get’s the next shot at current Welterweight Champion George St Pierre.
