For his latest “Presidential Address” on Fuel TV’s ‘UFC Tonight’ show, Dana White decided to have a rant about boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr who attracted headlines last week after questioning the hype surrounding Asian basketball star Jeremy Lin.
“Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he’s Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise,” Mayweather wrote on Twitter.
Many were unhappy with the boxer for bringing the player’s race into the equation, and White was amongst them.
“Yes Floyd, you’re racist with the stuff that you said,” White stated, before pointing out that plenty of black players get praised and also that the hype around Lin is deserved given that he’s not only playing well, but also breaking records.
White wasn’t finished there though, also nailing ‘Pretty Boy’ for saying some time ago that his rival Manny Pacquiao should “make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice.”
“Sushi’s from Japan…he’s from the Philippines, dummy!” White exclaimed.
Finally the UFC president told him to stop “shooting your big mouth on twitter” and instead putting on the fight that everyone, including himself wants to see which is Mayweather Vs Pacquiao.
