Dana White made an appearance on Jim Rome’s ESPN show last night to talk about the upcoming UFC 104 event amongst other topics.  If you’ve been keeping up with White’s whirlwind media schedule of late then you’ll likely have heard most of the questions answered before.

An interesting footnote of the interview however was that White still seems sold on the idea of a future match-up between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida, admitting, “I think we are a couple fights away from seeing a mega-fight like that.”

For many it would be a dream match-up, though the fighters themselves who have a close relationship will likely not be so enthused at the prospect.  Before such a fight would even be considered both fighters will have to work hard to maintain their unbeaten UFC records in there forthcoming title defenses with Machida facing Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua at UFC 104 later this month whilst Silva looks set to fight Vitor Belfort.
