In this past week champion boxer turned MMA fighter James Toney has took his gloves off and started aiming his trash talk in the direction of UFC president Dana White.
“If he don’t like me, f*ck him,” Toney tells BJPenn.com, “…but, you know what, after the fight, since he’s been running his mouth lately like a little pig, I’mma knock his ass out too, right after the fight. He gettin’ it. Dana White your ass gettin’ it. I ain’t playing with you.”
White was played the comments and asked for his response during an interview on Sportsnet Connected yesterday.
“That’s my boy,” White said, laughing off the threats, “that’s how he got himself into this mess. He doesn’t have to worry about me. What he needs to worry about is Randy Couture, OK? James Toney chased me around talking a bunch of smack about the UFC, about MMA fighters and obviously about me, and he got himself a fight.”
White went on to pull no punches when he described how he expected the heavyweight match-up to go down at UFC 118 on August 28th.
“Here’s what I expect: Are you ready?….are you ready?….Lets get it on! Couture goes in, double-legs him, puts him against the fence and squashes his head.”
Meanwhile, turning his attention to this weekend’s UFC 117 event White appeared to backtrack on a statement he made at the pre-fight press conference that the winner of the Thiago Alves Vs Jon Fitch bout would get a title shot.
“It’s all a matter of timing, and yes, Jake Shields, Martin Kampmann, or Thiago Alves and Fitch are all right in the mix there. We’ll see how this whole thing plays out by the end of the year.”
