Dana White Reacts To UFC On Fuel TV 8

Dana White wasn’t in Japan for ‘UFC On Fuel TV 8’, he stayed back in the U.S and ended up watching the fights with actor and former boxer Mickey Rourke, posting his thoughts on the event on Twitter.

Things didn’t start out too well, with White calling most of the card ‘brutal’ to watch as most of the fights proved to be underwhelming.

In fact after questioning the decision in the Diego Sanchez Vs Takanori Gomi fight on the main card, stating, “How the f*ck did Diego win that fight!? Crazy sh*t,” after a surprise split-decision verdict that denied the Japanese fighter a win he appeared to have earned White admitted that the event was close to becoming a disaster.

“Next two fights hopefully save the night. BRUTAL,” was White’s frank assessment heading into the co-main event between Stefan Struve and Mark Hunt.

Luckily White’s prayers were answered and the heavyweight fight proved to be a back-and-forth battle that left the UFC president thrilled with the eventual winner’s performance.

WOW!!! [Struve] had full mount and went for the armbar, Hunt is tough,” White stated during the fight as the former PRIDE star survived a ground exchange with the submission savvy ‘Skyscraper’, before then exclaiming in typically expletive-laden fashion, “Holy sh*t Mark Hunt!!!!!!!” when the ‘Super-Samoan’ went on to produce a third round TKO.

If he thought that was good then he hadn’t seen anything yet because the main even between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann proved to be an absolute barnburner.

“What a f*cking war!!! Wandy vs Stann can’t wait for rd 2!!!!!!!” he wrote, echoing the thoughts of everyone else who’d just witnessed the round of the year so far.

“Holy sh*t Wanderlei looked good 2 night!!!!” he remarked later after ‘The Axe-Murderer’ harked back to his heyday in the PRIDE organization with a brutal KO finish.

As he had wished for the two biggest fights on the card had indeed saved the event and he was sure to express his gratitude to them for that.

“Co main and Main event were AMAZING!!! Hunt, Struve, Stann and Wandy deliver big!!!!! Thank u all 4 of u.”
