Dave Herman Tests Positive For Marijuana; UFC 136 Fight Scrapped

UFC heavyweight fighter Dave ‘Pee Wee’ Herman has revealed that he has tested positive for Marijuana in a pre-fight drug test for his UFC 136 bout with Mike Russow on October 8th.

A stunned Herman has denied using the drug though, telling ClinchGearRadio that, “I don’t even smoke. I haven’t even had a beer in two months.”

Neverthless, his bout, which was scheduled to appear on the main card, has now been scrapped and a rematch between Leonard Garcia and Nam Phan will now move of from the prelims to replace it.

It’s a disappointing turn of events as Herman had made a solid start to his UFC career back in June at UFC 131 when he defeated Jon Olav Einemo, earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors along the way.

Despite the late change to the line-up UFC 136 still stands as a strong card for the promotion, featuring both a lightweight title rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, plus a featherweight title bout featuring Jose Aldo Vs Kenny Florian, and not forgetting a middleweight No.1 contender fight between Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann.
