One of the UFC’s most talented BJJ specialists, Demian Maia, is expected to return to action at the UFC 109 event, which will take place in Las Vegas at the beginning of February.

Maia (11-1), will be looking to bounce back from the first defeat of his MMA career – a knockout in just 21 seconds to Nate Marquardt – when he faces off against tough competitor Dan Miller (11-2-1nc).  Before the defeat Maia was rumoured to be a possible contender for a title shot against current middleweight champion Anderson Silva.  Now he has slipped back down the ladder and will look for an impressive performance to get his career back on the right track.

Dan Miller is himself coming off a unanimous decision defeat to Chael Sonnen back in May at UFC 93.    Currently 3-1 in the octagon, a win over Maia would be the most significant win of his career to date.
