UFC 148 has had yet another notable fight added to it’s ranks as it emerges that Demian Mai’s welterweight debut will feature on the show.
The former middleweight No.1 contender will immediately be thrown into a challenging fight in the division against Dong-Hyun ‘Stun Gun’ Kim.
Kim has been one of the welterweight division’s most consistent performers for some time now, suffering only one loss in eight Octagon outings, and that came against current interim champion Carlos Condit.
A big 170lb’er with a strong wrestling base, he’ll be a tough opponent for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert who’s own form has been inconsistent of late, losing two of his last three fights and struggling to re-capture the form that lead him to five victories and a title shot when he first entered the UFC back in 2007.
UFC 148, which takes place on July 7th in Las Vegas has developed into a stacked card in recent days with some of the other fights announced including Rich Franklin Vs Cung Le, Tito Ortiz Vs Forrest Griffin and Michael Bisping Vs Tim Boetsch.
TUF: Live coaches Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz’s bantamweight title fight is expected to headline the event, while a Las Vegas UFC Expo is also in the works to coincide with the show.
