Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza has a new opponent for next weekend’s Strikeforce: Tate Vs Rousey event after Derek Brunson pulled out injured yesterday.

Bristol Marunde has now stepped in at short notice to face the BJJ expert in what’s sure to be a tough debut for the 29 year-old.

Marunde carries a 15-6 career record, is currently on a four-fight winning streak and has lost only once in his last ten fights.

This isn’t the only upheaval to the event Strikeforce have faced recently as a bout between Gegard Mousasi and Mike Kyle was scrapped last week, also due to injury.

As a result there’s no doubt that the card has now weakened significantly from the original line-up, but much of the attention being drawn to the event revolves around the main event, a 135lb woman’s title fight between Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey, and thankfully that fight is still good to go.
