OK, we’ll admit it, we, like a number of other MMA sites out there, done goofed by calling last weekend’s event ‘DREAM 17: Fight For Japan’ when in fact it was just plain old ‘DREAM: Fight For Japan.’
Apologies for the confusion, but what it does mean is that DREAM 17 is actually the next event for the promotion which takes place on July 16th.
The event will host the final of the bantamweight tournament which began at last Saturday’s show, pitting Masakuzu Imanari Vs Hideo Tokoro.
However, headline duties will actually be undertaken by current DREAM 205lb champion Gegard Mousasi who will face decorated Japanese Judoka Hiroshi Izumi who’s currently on a four fight winning streak in his fledgling MMA career.
Also look out for DREAM featherweight champion Hiroyuki Takaya defending his title against Kazuyuki Miyata.
More bouts should be announced in the coming weeks leading up to the event, so stay tuned for the latest details.
