Good news fight fans, Japanese promotion DREAM are still alive and kicking, and working on a new event for May 29th.

Dubbed the ‘Fight For Japan’, the show will feature a homegrown bantamweight grand-prix with Masakazu Imanari, Yoshiro Maeda, Kenji Osawa, Hideo Tokoro, Darren Uyenoyama and Atsushi Yamamoto all expected to be involved in the eight-man line-up.

The event is also anticipated to feature a number of other DREAM favorites such as Shinya Aoki, Joachim Hansen and Caol Uno.

Today’s announcement is the first real news from the promotion since their event at the turn of the year, and with their parent company FEG believed to be in grave financial difficulties, many believed that DREAM was on it’s last legs.

That could still be the case, but for now at least we have one more big Japanese event to look forward to, and after all the troubles there’s been over in that region since the recent disaster, it’s great to finally see some positive news emerging.
