Dustin Poirier Vs Joseph Duffy Now Re-Booked For UFC 195

UFC Fight Night 76’s cancelled headliner between Dustin Poirier and Joseph Duffy has now been re-booked for UFC 195 in Las Vegas on January 2nd.

The original scheduled fight between them in Dublin, Ireland last weekend was scrapped on short notice after it emerged that Duffy has suffered a mild concussion during a training session a week out from the bout.

Poirier later revealed that he’d been offered a chances to fight Norman Parke instead, but turned it down, stating that he was willing to fight anyone, but only if he was given a full training camp to prepare for them.

‘The Diamond’ has found a new lease of life after a move up to lightweight following a loss to Conor McGregor last year, racking up two stoppage victories due to strikes in the first round in 2015.

Duffy holds the distinction of being the last person to beat the aforementioned McGregor back in 2010, but he’s also put together a two fight winning streak in the Octagon since joining earlier this year which has led to him being marked out as the next potential breakout star from Ireland.

At this stage it’s unclear if Poirier Vs Duffy will feature on the main pay-per-view card at UFC 195 which is set to be headlined by a welterweight title clash between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, with Andrei Arlovski Vs Stipe Miocic likely to serve as the co-main event.
