Heavyweight fighter Fabricio Werdum is currently under contract with the Strikeforce promotion, but he’s currently doing everything in his power to try to convince Dana White to bring him over to the UFC.

To help his cause he’s already gathered over 6,000 messages on Twitter from his fans asking for Werdum to be given the chance to fight in his native Brazil for the UFC, and he’s also now delivered a video message directly to the UFC president courtesy of ChokeOutTV.

Werdum has previously fought for the UFC, but was released back in 2008 after a loss to Junior Dos Santos who was an up and comer at the time making his debut in the Octagon.

He then signed for Strikeforce where he would achieve worldwide acclaim after becoming the first man to defeat Russian star Fedor Emelienanko in 10 years.

It was the biggest moment of his career to date, but some of the shine was taken of the historic victory when he put in an extremely lackluster performance in his next fight, a decision defeat to Alistair Overeem in the quarter-finals of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand-prix.

Nevertheless, Werdum is still a talented heavyweight fighter who would certainly be a solid addition to the UFC’s ranks if White does agree to move him over.

Check out Werdum’s video plea below.

  1. I say bring him on in the name of variety, I’m already tired of watching the same 4 heavyweights trade opponents amongst each other. Throw him in front of Brock and let’s be entertained.
