From time to time footage emerges of fighters working out in the gym prior to their fights, but often it’s just things like pad work, circuits and sparring.

In a new video produced by MMAfighting however we actually get to see something far more rare – a glimpse at a one-on-one coaching session between famed MMA trainer Greg Jackson and current light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones prior to his UFC 135 title fight with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson.

In the clip Jackson shows Jones some new techniques that he’d like him to work that could pay dividends in the fight due to Rampage’s style.

It’s a fascinating insight into the two men’s working relationship and sheds some light on the tactical nous that’s helped Jackson to become one of the world’s most highly regarded coaches.
