It’s been a long time coming but it seems that Fedor Emelianenko’s next fight may finally be close to being confirmed.

According to a new report from MMAWeekly, Fedor is being lined up to face Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva at Strikeforce’s next major event on January 29th.

At this stage there’s still no official announcement on whether Fedor has signed a new deal with the promotion, but regardless he still has one fight remaining on his current Strikeforce contract which will be fulfilled with this upcoming fight.

The fight will be the first time that the Russian superstar has fought since losing for the first time in 10 years against Fedor Werdum back in May.   Meanwhile Silva survived a first round scare against Mike Kyle to pick up a TKO win at Strikeforce’s final event of the year on December 4th, building on a prior victory over Andrei Arlovski earlier in the year.

Meanwhile Herschel Walker is also expected to appear on the card, while Nick Diaz and Mayhem Miller have also been rumored to be under consideration.
