Showtime executives have revealed to MMAJunkie that an average of almost 500,000 viewers tuned in to this past weekend’s Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Werdum event.

That makes the show the 3rd most watched Strikeforce event on the station, behind January’s Strikeforce Miami event which drew 517,000 thanks mainly to NFL legend Herschel Walker’s debut, and 2009’s Carano Vs Cyborg card which holds the current record with¬† an average of 576,000 viewers.

Gina Carano’s star power was evident last year when her title fight with Cyborg santos peaked at 856,000.¬† That figure, which would have given an indication of how much of a draw Fedor Emelianenko really is, did not get announced on this occasion however.

Strikeforce officials are reported to be pleased with the results.
