Hot on the heels of the UFC’s first event on FOX the promotion have now unveiled plans for their first show on it’s subsiduary channel ‘FX’.

The event will take place in January, though an exact date has not yet been established.

While it’s not been announced who will headline the show, two fights have been established, with heavyweights Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft set to battle it out, while scrappy welterweight fighters Josh ‘The Dentist’ Neer and Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig are also on tap for what should be a stand-up war.

While FX doesn’t have quite the same drawing power as FOX it has established itself as a highly respected channel, airing award winning original shows like Sons Of Anarchy, Justified, Louie and It’s Always Sunny In Philladelphia.

It has a similar reach to the UFC’s current home on Spike TV, appearing in almost 100 million homes, but generally produces much higher TV ratings.

FX will play host to a number of live events from the UFC in 2012 along with regular Friday night coverage of the new live version of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’.
