Former MMA Star Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch To Star In New Reality TV Show

Believe it or not former boxer and MMA heavyweight fighter Eric ‘Butterbean’ Esch is set to star in his very own reality TV show: ‘Big Law – Deputy Butterbean’.

The show, which will air on the ‘Investigation Discovery’ (ID) Channel, part of the Discovery Network, features the 400lb Esch and his sidekick Adam Hadder training to become a deputy at the Walker County Sheriff’s Department in Jasper, Alabama.

Despite now being 44 years of age Butterbean has still been fighting in mixed martial arts in recent times. We covered him in a laughably bad encounter with strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski last year in Poland for instance, a fight which he lost in just 75 seconds, though apparently he’s picked up two TKO victories since then.

Hopefully this new endevour means that he’s going to finally hang up his gloves however and embark on the next chapter of his life. We wish him well.

The first episode airs on August 9th at 10pm ET. Check out the official trailer for the series below.
