If you’re in the U.S then you may well have been worrying in the past few weeks about a breakdown in contract talks between the new home of the UFC, FOX and digital television provider DirecTV which could have left many homes without FOX programming starting from tomorrow.

Well, worry no longer as at the 11th hour a deal has been struck and the two parties have now agreed to a contract extension.

The UFC will officially move to FOX in January, but before then the network has a special ‘UFC On FOX’ event planned for November 12th which will see the UFC heavyweight title on the line as Cain Velasquez takes on Junior Dos Santos airing on primetime TV.

“Fox Networks and DIRECTV have reached an agreement for DIRECTV to continue carrying all Fox Networks (including FX, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, SPEED, FUEL TV, FOX Soccer, FOX Soccer Plus and FOX Deportes), Fox’s regional sports networks, Fox Broadcasting (FOX), the FOX local stations, Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network,” DirecTV expressed in a statement. “We both know the past ten days have been challenging, but we’re pleased that both sides could eventually come together to ensure our viewers continue to enjoy Fox programming.”
