FOX Sports 1 Set To Host UFC’s Superbowl Week Event In 2014

More news regarding the UFC’s presence on the newly announced FOX Sports 1 channel has now filtered through which indicates that the UFC will host an event on FS1 during Superbowl week next year.

Normally the UFC puts together a stacked pay-per-view event on superbowl weekend and as yet it’s not been confirmed whether this will be a direct replacement for that, or will just be an additional event.

Dana White had however hinted earlier in the year that they could switch to doing their traditional PPV card on FOX next year.

At the time we assumed that he meant a ‘UFC On FOX’ event, but it could be that this may well be what he was referring to.

If it is then this is still good news for the fans, though ideally I’d still have liked it to be aired on ‘big’ FOX as that channel is still king when it comes to exposing the UFC to the largest possible audience.

Overall though it’s just good to see that FOX are again ensuring that the UFC is heavily involved on the channel, coming as it does hot on the heels of the news that the promotion will also hold a ‘Fight Night’ style card during FS1’s official launch night on August 17th.
