Frank Mir took everyone by surprise recently by suggesting that he was seriously considering a move down to 205lbs after his most recent loss to Shane Carwin.

Given that he had just finished a strength and conditioning program to bulk up to 265lbs that seemed like a curious change in direction, but nonetheless Mir began the process of slimming back down.

Today though the former heavyweight champion has revealed on his twitter account that he’s had a change of heart over which division his immediate future lies in.

“Brocks comments in his @UFC interviews have inspired me to decide on holding off on going to 205, and working my way to fighting him again.” – Frank Mir

In his pre-UFC 116 fight interviews Lesnar was dismissive of his upcoming opponent Shane Carwin’s defeat of Mir, claiming  the he, “scrambled his eggs first.”

In the countdown show he also said of Mir, “Eight weeks of listening to that [expletive] mud flap go. I don’t know what’s more fun beating the [expletive] out of him or talking [expletive] about him?”

And so it appears that Mir once again has reignited his all consuming hatred for the UFC’s heavyweight champion.
