The ink is barely dry on the UFC’s purchase of rival promotion Strikeforce, but the promotion is already laying down plans to make use of one of their most biggest stars.

Gina Carano, often referred to as the face of Woman’s Mixed Martial Arts, will head to NYC on March 23rd to help promote the UFC’s latest foray into the gaming market, titled ‘UFC Personal Trainer.’

The game, which will be released on Xbox 360 Kinect, PlayStation Move and Nintendo Wii, is a fitness title based around the sport of MMA.

From a marketing perspective it’s clear why Carano was chosen from the assignment given her good looks and star-power, but it is somewhat ironic given that during this past weekend’s announcement that Strikeforce was now under the Zuffa banner, Dana White appeared to confirm that he was no closer to allowing women to compete in the UFC.

Carano recently announced that she was preparing to return to the Strikeforce cage after almost two years out. Meanwhile she was recently photographed doing reshoots with co-star Ewan McGregor for her upcoming movie ‘Haywire’ which will be released in the summer.
