Croatian fighter Goran Reljic has been released from the UFC following his latest loss to Krzysztof Soszynski on the main card of last weekend’s UFC 122 event.

After losing two fights back-to-back at middleweight Reljic had hoped to revive his prospects by returning to 205lbs where he had spent most of his career, but it didn’t work out, losing on unanimous decision to the Pole.

All the way back in May of 2008 at UFC 84 Reljic made his UFC debut with win and ‘Fight Of The Night’ performance against Wilson Gouveia. That took his career record to 8-0 and his future looked bright, but a serious back injury forced him out of action for almost two years.

Unfortunately since then he’s been unable to regain his form and so the 26 year old must now look elsewhere in order to continue fighting.
