Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz is undoubtedly one of the most interesting characters in the sport of mixed martial arts.

He’s often portrayed as the ‘bad boy’ of the sport, and indeed often lives up to that, but in a new mini documentary from Fight! Magazine you get to see a slightly different side to Diaz.

Here’s a few interesting insights into the mind of one of the world’s best 170lb’ers.

“Love fighting? No I don’t love fighting – it’s a living hell!”

“My first thought when I step into the cage is, in about 20 minutes I’m going to be in the showe rinsing all the blood of me. Hopefully it’s the other guy’s and not mine.”

“Even today I’ve been here and watched him (his brother, UFC fighter Nate Diaz), how he’s so much better than people, and I say, ‘man, it’s nice you know, it’s nice to see hard work pay off.'”

“If they paid me to race triathalon as much as they pay me to fight I’d probably wouldn’t fight.”
