Hacran Dias Is Also Now Out Of UFC Fight Night 34 Event In January

The UFC’s first event of 2014 on January 14th is continuing to experience problems just a couple of days after headliner Jake Ellenberger pulled out injured.

The latest news is that Hacran Dias has had to withdraw from his co-main event bout with the debuting veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri at the UFC Fight Night 34 event after picking up an injury in training for the bout.

Hailing from Brazil, Dias is 1-1 in the UFC so far, but holds an impressive 21-2-1 professional record.

Kawajiri is one of Japan’s best known fighters and was finally set to make his UFC debut after essentially spending his entire MMA career fighting for Asia’s top promotions like PRIDE, Dream, Shooto and ONE FC.

With the UFN34 card already looking fairly weak it’s likely that the UFC will be working hard behind the scenes to make sure that a suitable opponent can be found to keep Kawajiri in the co-main event spot of the event which will mark the promotion’s first ever visit to Singapore.

Yesterday it was announced that after Ellenberger’s call off, fast rising South Korean fighter Hyun Gyu Lin would step up to main event status to fight Tarec Saffiedine.
