UFC heavyweight star Frank Mir was the fighter lined up for UFC 137’s Fan Q&A session last Friday and you can check out highlights from it in the video below.

Mir talked about the injury that kept GSP out of the event, telling fans that he thought it was best if a fighter didn’t try to compete if it was going to significantly effect his performance since that would be short-changing the fans.

He also expanded on a recent statement in which he claimed Brock Lesnar would beat Alistair Overeem when they fight at UFC 141 in December, noting that after the problems Lesnar faced while striking with Cain Velasquez that he would now be coming in looking to use his wrestling and that would cause problems for the Dutchman.

If Overeem was to come out on top however Mir says he’d love to fight him and gives an honest appraisal of the match-up by saying he thinks it would be a much closer fight than Overeem’s current one since he doesn’t have Lesnar’s takedown and is more likely to stand and trade with him.
