A flyweight tournament semi-final rematch between Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson has been pencilled in for The Ultimate Fighter: Live Season 1 Finale which is expected to take place on June 1st In Las Vegas.

In their original meeting at ‘UFC On FX 2’ last month Johnson had been declared the winner by majority decision, but it emerged backstage after the event that there had been an error in calculating the judges scores, and the bout should have been declared a draw.

If that had been the case then due to the tournament format the fight would have progressed to a fourth ‘sudden victory’ round to establish the winner.

Since that did not take place an immediate rematch was called for, and while it’s far from an ideal situation few are likely to complain about getting the chance to see ‘Uncle Creepy’ and ‘Mighty Mouse’ do battle again since their first fight was a thoroughly entertaining scrap.

The eventual winner of the bout will go on to face former UFC bantamweight No.1 contender Joseph Benavidez to establish the promotion’s first ever Flyweight champion later in the year.
