Igor Pokrajac Amongst Five Fighters Released From The UFC

The UFC have completed another wave of cuts with five fighters believed to have been shown the exit door following their recent defeats inside the Octagon.

Amongst them is UFC veteran Igor Pokrajac who’s been signed to the promotion since 2009.

The 36 year-old’s release comes as no great suprise though as he’s failed to pick up a win in his last five Octagon outings, most recently suffering a first round TKO loss to Marcos RogĂ©rio de Lima back in December.

He bows out with a 4-7 (1nc) record in the UFC, 25-12 (1nc) for his career overall.

TUF Brazil fighter Rodrigo Damm is also headed for the exit door after a three fight losing streak which concluded with a decision loss to Evan Dunham in January.

The 34 year-old Damm, who had also fought for the likes of Strikeforce and Sengoku before joining the UFC went 3-4 during his spell in the Octagon and currently holds a 12-9 career record.

Courtesy of three rear-naked choke defeats in a row Finland’s Tom Ninnimaki was also released. He logged just a single win in his four fight stint in the promotion.

That’s one better than Mike Rhodes who suffered three-straight defeats and never got to taste victory in the UFC, but he’s still only 25 years of age so who knows what the future holds for him.

Finally, Sean Soriano continues the trend by also having a three fight losing streak after having been undefeated as a professional fighter prior to having joined the UFC. He too is still only 25 years old, so may hope to works his way back to the promotion in the future.
