Jake Ellenberger Vs Martin Kampmann Headlines TUF: Live Finale

At today’s UFC press conference in Canada it emerged that the Ultimate Fighter Live Finale on FX will be headlined by a major welterweight fight between Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann.

The bout will take place over five rounds and could certainly have a bearing on the title picture in the 170lb division.

Ellenberger is currently one of the hottest commodities in the weight-class after racking up a six fight winning streak, and has only loss in the UFC came in an extremely close fight with interim-champ Carlos Condit which he lost by split decision.

Kampmann can’t boast a similiar winning run, but he does hold recent victories over notable fighters Rick Story and Thiago Alves, while the two defeats he suffered prior to that to Jake Shields and Diego Sanchez were both very competitive and on another night could have gone in his favor.

At the same press conference today GSP confirmed that he hoped to fight Condit for the title in November if he can recover from a knee injury in time, and with Nick Diaz immediate future in the division currently up in the air pending a hearing regarding a marijuana suspension the winner of Ellenberger Vs Kampmann could well be within touching distance of a title fight.
