James Toney And Ken Shamrock Almost Come To Blows At Press Conference

Yesterday boxer James Toney and veteran MMA fighter Ken Shamrock held a press conference in California to announce their intention to fight each other later this year.

Things quickly took a turn for the worse when the two men’s ego’s collided and they began trading insults, with Toney calling the 47 year-old Shamrock a “has-been” . Things got more heated as Shamrock said, “I’m going to bloody you up”, and then both men got up off their chairs and had to be held back by their respective teams.

Aside from the controversy, the particulars of their bout are sounding increasingly bizarre. Originally touted as an MMA fight, the word now is that Toney wants the fight to consist of eight x three minute rounds, and for some rounds to be stand-up only.

Knowing the personalities of both fighters we can expect to hear plenty more from both of these two in the lead-up to this farcical sideshow in the coming months.
