Jan Finney Not Intimidated By Cyborg Santos

Many people feel that Jan Finney (8-7) is being thrown in with the wolves when she takes on dominant woman’s 145lb champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos (9-1) on Saturday night at Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Werdum.  Some sites even have Santos as a -2000 favorite to win.

While Finney is undoubtedly respectful of her opponent’s reputation, she still believes she can find a way to win against the odds.

“She’s pretty impressive,” Finney acknowledges in an interview with sherdog.com. “She’s definitely physically impressive, but everybody makes mistakes and I just plan on capitalizing on those.”

Finney admits this is by far the biggest fight of her career, but she seems to shrug off the idea that Cyborg might be able to get into her head with her intense attitude before the bout has even begun.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say that’s she’s all about the mind games and like trying to break you before you even get in there, but I just think it’s comical because I think it’s like, we’re actors you know, we’re just putting on a show.

“Actually I’ve heard she’s a really nice person, I mean multiple people that have experienced being around her and everything are like, ‘She’s really a nice girl’, so I just think we’re both competitors, it’s a sport, and once we get in there we’re just going to do our thing.”
