Jon Jones interview

There was some panic yesterday when it emerged that Jon Jones had been given a six month injury suspension due to a possibly broken foot he sustained during his decision win over Ovince St. Preux at UFC 197 this past weekend.

However, the length of the suspension is a wost-case scenario pending an x-ray to discover the full extent of the injury to his foot, and by the sounds of things, Jones is confident that it isn’t broken.

“I haven’t gotten an x-ray but I’m already up and walking around. It’ll be fine,” Jones stated in response to a question from a fan asking if the injury would keep him from a potential spot on the UFC 200 fight card.

So, a light-heavyweight title fight between current champion Daniel Cormier and Jones could well become the new main event for UFC 200 in July to replace Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz.

We shouldn’t have to wait to much longer to find out for sure as reports are now emerging that the new UFC 200 main event may be announced on ‘Good Morning America’ on ABC this morning during a special ‘UFC Takeover’ show that will also feature the likes of Miesha Tate, Paige VanZant and Chuck Liddell.
