Carlos Condit now has an opponent after being overtaken by Nick Diaz for the next title shot against Georges St.Pierre.

Josh Koscheck confirmed earlier this evening on Twitter that he will face Condit at UFC 143 on February 4th.

“Yep, when I talk….. i get… Feb 4th weekend Vegas :) I will be fighting!!!!!!!!!!! Thx you DW!” Koscheck wrote.

The outspoken former TUF season 1 star had talked up a potential fight with Condit earlier in the week.

For Condit this is a tough spot to be in. Dana White has said he’ll get the winner of GSP Vs Diaz, which incidentally also takes place at UFC 143, but only if he beats his next opponent.

Overcoming Koscheck could prove to be a tall order, but if he does so then there will be no denying he’s earned his shot at the title.

For Koscheck it’s a perfect scenario, giving him the opportunity to get right back into the title hunt if he can beat Condit.

However, given the fact that he’s been handily defeated twice by current champion GSP it’s unlikely he will get another shot quite so soon, so he’ll be hoping that Diaz can pull off the upset win on Superbowl weekend.
