Josh ‘The Dentist’ Neer has once again fought his way back into the UFC have a period fighting for regional promotions around the country.

Neer went 2-3 in his previous run in the Octagon, finally bowing out in October of 2009. Since then he’s gone 6-1 with his only loss coming to dominant Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

During this period Neer also moved up to the welterweight division, becoming Shark Fights interim 170lb champion in the process, and it’s at this weight class that he’ll be competing in on his return to the big stage.

Neer’s first fight has already been established at UFC On Versus 6 on October 1st where he’ll take on another returning fighter Keith Wisniewski who’s only previous fight in the UFC was back in November of 2005 at UFC 56 where he lost to Nick Thompson.

More recently he’s strung together a six fight winning streak which paved the way for his Octagon return.
