The often outspoken and controversial former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar avoided trash-talking during a during a media gathering yesterday in Las Vegas as filming on The Ultimate Fighter Season 13 got underway, but after hearing what his opposite coach Junior Dos Santos had to say about his fighting abilities it might not be long before he does.
“[Brock Lesnar] doesn’t accept punches well,” Dos Santos told reporters. “I am from boxing, so I have no problem with punches. Guys can punch me and I feel nothing, just keep going. That doesn’t happen with him. I don’t know why, I guess he’s got a weak chin.”
Dos Santos is of course well known for his boxing prowess, recording four first round TKO’s in his six fights in the UFC so far, and he thinks he can exploit any weakness in Lesnar’s chin.
“I believe I can knock him out,” he says.
Meanwhile Lesnar, who still sports a scar on his left cheek from his loss to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121 , was in another room telling reporters that he hadn’t watched that particular fight back again yet, and that he’d sit down with his coaches and discuss what went wrong in due course.
Whether his coaches will be as blunt about his weaknesses as Dos Santos has been remains to be seen.
