Junior Dos Santos has good English compared to some of his other Brazilian counterparts in the UFC, but as you’ll see in the video below occasionally he still needs a little help when he gets stuck. Luckily it seems that his translator Ed Soares is on stand-by at all times to help him out.
During the interview itself, perhaps the most interesting part is when he talks about his first impressions of his opposing coach Brock Lesnar.
“He’s a little bit different because he’s a pretty nice guy, and this is different from what I’m used to watching [Lesnar] on the TV you know, he’s pretty nice, but still big!”
As for his coaching philosophy, Dos Santos notes that they don’t have a lot of time on the show to work with the competitors before the fights begin, so they will be putting their focus into improving their cardio.
Though he’s relatively young to be a TUF coach at just 26, Dos Santos also feels he has plenty to offer his team.
“I think I’m a very confident guy, and I will try to bring this for them, and I have pretty good experience in MMA so I think I can help them a lot and teach all what they need, so I’m very happy and I’ll do my best here.”
Dos Santos will also have a strong backroom staff to help him during the show too, and it’s rumored that fellow Black House team members Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will be amongst those making guest appearances during the show.
