A heavyweight clash between Junior dos Santos and Tai Tuivasa is believed to be in the works as the main event of the evening at UFC Fight Night 142 in Adelaide, Australia on December 2nd.
Former heavyweight champion dos Santos is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Blagoy Ivanov at UFC Fight Night 133 back in July.
Prior to that the 34-year-old had lost in a title encounter with the champion at the time, Stipe Miocic by TKO midway through the first round. That continued a pattern of alternating between wins and losses for JDS dating back as far as 2012.
Meanwhile, his opponent Tuivasa is currently undefeated in his eight-fight career to date, including three victories inside the Octagon so far.
That included a KO victory against Rashad Coulter in his debut back in November of last year, followed by a TKO stoppage against Cyril Asker and most recently a unanimous decision victory over Andrei Arlovski in June.
