Recently we discussed the developing UFC Fight of The Troops 2 (AKA UFC Fight Night 23) event which is set to go down on January 22nd, and today the headline bout of the show was revealed – Kenny Florian Vs Evan Dunham.

The fight had originally been scheduled to take place on February 5th as part of the main card of the stacked UFC 126 event, but this seems like a fair move which boosts the UFN 23 card, while the Super Bowl weekend show still has plenty of big fights to keep fans happy.

The lightweight division is currently in a transitional period with Frankie Edgar installed as champion, BJ Penn temporarily moving up to 170lbs and perhaps most significantly the WEC’s 155lb roster set to fold into the UFC’s at the turn of the year.

Florian and Dunham undoubtedly remain two of the top contenders however, and whoever wins this bout will be placed high up the pecking orderĀ  in 2011.
