Will he or won’t he? The debate about whether Fedor Emelianenko will eventually end up in the UFC has been going on for years, and there’s no end in sight to the speculation over the Russian’s future.

The latest chapter in the ongoing saga comes from Yahoo! Sport’s respected reporter Kevin Iole, one of the few reporters currently in Abu Dhabi to cover UFC 112. At a media round-table with Dana White earlier in the week the UFC president admitted that signing Fedor had now become “an obsession” for him.

He also seemed to imply that Fedor did not have a contract with Strikeforce, therefore leaving open the opportunity for the UFC to sign him. His comments were enough for Iole to admit to fellow Yahoo! reporter Steve Cofield that he believes Fedor is now more likely than ever to reach an agreement with the UFC.
