King Mo KO’s Roger Gracie At Strikeforce: Barnett Vs Kharitonov

Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal marked his return to the Strikeforce cage after a long layoff with a big knockout victory over Roger Gracie.

There was very little action in the opening stages with both men clearly respecting the others skills.

After an extremely long feeling out process that brought boo’s from the crowd the fight suddenly burst into life in the final minute of the round with King Mo landing a clubbing right hook that dropped Gracie.

He quickly followed with what would prove to be a knockout blow to just behind his grounded opponent’s ear, instantly stiffening his legs and signalling an end to the fight.

There’s no doubt Lawal packs some serious power in his punches to go along with his high level wrestling and he’s now on the fast track back to a title shot at 205lbs.

As for Gracie, this was his first loss and a tough one at that, but let’s not forget that this was only his fifth professional fight and a big step up in class, so he shouldn’t be judged too harshly.
