It has emerged today that the WEC’s featherweight contender L.C Davis has been cut from the promotion, meaning that he will not be part of the forthcoming merger with the UFC.

The unfortunate news comes after Davis dropped to his second loss in a row against Rafael Assuncao at WEC 52 last month.

Davis can perhaps count himself unlucky however, having previously put together three wins in a row for the promotion, defeating Javier Vasquez, Diego Nunes and Deividas Taurosevicius along the way.

The 30 year-old, who’s also fought for Affliction, Sengoku and the IFL during his 16-4 career will now have to ply his trade elsewhere for the time being and hope that he can fight his way into the UFC at a later date.
