Leonard Garcia Signs For Legacy FC

After being released from the UFC, veteran fighter Leonard Garcia has quickly signed a new deal to fight for Legacy FC.

Garcia had indicated earlier this week that his desire to work his way back to a place in the UFC as quickly as possible was going to influence who he decided to fight for next, and it appears that Legacy FC were a good fit in that regard.

“Our goal is to get back in the UFC and Legacy gave us the flexibility to take advantage of that opportunity when it presents itself,”
Garcia’s management stated. “We are looking forward to putting on exciting fights with Legacy and thank them for the opportunity.”

Garcia will now fight LFC regular Rey Trujillo (14-10) on July 19th at Legacy FC 21.

Previously Garcia indicated that both World Series Of Fighting and Bellator had shown an interest in signing him, but that he wasn’t going to take them up on their offers. However, Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney has since categorically denied that was the case, saying that they had no interest in acquiring him.

Ross launched MMA Insight (previously FightOfTheNight.com) in 2009 as a way to channel his passion for the sport of mixed martial arts. He's since penned countless news stories and live fight reports along with dozens of feature articles as the lead writer for the site, reaching millions of fans in the process.
