Despite Dana White announcing last week that the UFC  and WEC merger would take place at the turn of the year it turns out that The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale on December 4th will be the first to benefit from the new era.

WEC veteran Leonard Garcia and Tyler Toner are now set to make history as the participants in the UFC’s first ever featherweight bout at the event.

This won’t be Garcia’s first taste of UFC action though as he’s fought previously for the promotion at 155lbs, going 1-2 back in 2007.  Just a few months ago he also lit up the WEC’s first ever prelim show on Spike TV in one of the fights of the year against The Korean Zombie.

Meanwhile Toner only made his WEC debut in April of this year and now is set to close out the year in the UFC.

The TUF 12 Finale is set to be headlined by Stephan Bonnar Vs Igor Pokrajic with Kendall Grove Vs Demian Maia in the supporting role alongside the final of the current series.
