Last week Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson announced that he was signing the agreement for his next bout, but didn’t mention his opponent’s name.

Despite that the word quickly spread that he would be fighting former champion Lyoto Machida and today Machida himself confirmed that the bout is indeed on the cards.

“My next fight is confirmed and it’s gg to be against Rampage,” the Brazilian posted on his twitter account.

Machida also noted that he expected the fight to happen, “before the end of the year.” MMAWeekly later confirmed that it will feature on an as yet unannounced UFC card scheduled for November 20th in the U.S.

This is sure to be an eagerly anticipated match-up with both men still being major forces at 205lbs despite both coming off second best in their last fights.  Its a high-stakes encounter with a win here being a major stepping stone back towards the title, while a defeat would be a devastating blow.
