Makhmud Muradov TKO’d Andrew Sanchez mid-way through the final round of their fight tonight on the UFC 257 main card.
Round One:
Early kick for Sanchez. Hard calf kick from Muradov. Jumping front kick to the body now from him. Another hard calf kick from Muradov.
Head kick attempt from Sanchez. Now he goes in for a takedown attempt, but Muradov stuffs it and then lands a punch over the top. He lands another leg kick and Sanchez scores with a punch too.
Big right hand for Muradov. He tries to land it again and then goes upstairs with a head kick attempt. Another chopping calf kick lands for Muradov.
Inside leg kick for Sanchez. Muradov pressing forward with strikes and then briefly into the clinch against the cage.
Back to striking range. He lands a calf kick, and again. Right hand for Sanchez. Front kick upstairs attempted by Muradov.
Again that calf kick lands for Muradov. Now he scores to the body with a punch. He misses a front kick upstairs though.
Muradov wades in with a big right hand. Another calf kick and Sanchez lands a counter punch that time. Muradov catches a kick, but doesn’t get anything off that.
Right hand from Muradov. Calf kick lands yet again. One-two for Muradov as he continues to pour on the pressure and then briefly thinks about a takedown attempt. However, he quickly gives up on that and lands a calf kick to end the round.
Round Two:
Sanchez trying to pressure at the start of the second round. A couple of glancing punches land for him. Calf kick for Muradov. Sanchez lands another punch upstairs.
Body kick for Sanchez. groin kick forces Muradov to take a brief stoppage. Back to it they go and Sanchez misses a kick and then there’s an exchange of punches in close. Sanchez into the clinch against the cage now, but they soon break apart.
Jab for Muradov. Punch lands for Sanchez on the counter as Muradov was pressuring. Nice jab for Sanchez after a sloppy exchange.
Clubbing left and right hand from Muradov. Both men land a solid strike to the head. Muradov eats a Sanchez counter. Muradov connects with the jab.
Hard left hook for Muradov and then gets a straight right behind it. Head kick attempt from Muradov just grazes the head of Sanchez.
Jab for Sanchez. Body punch for Muradov. Another punch lands for Sanchez. Jumping kick lands for Muradov and then a big right hand. He lands a couple more punches less cleanly to end the round.
Round Three:
Punch from Muradov as Sanchez goes for a head kick. Big punch for Muradov. A few light punches from Sanchez to keep Muradov at bay for now.
Hard one-two from Muradov. Another big right and then an uppercut for him. He’s swinging for the fences at times here. Now he lands to the body.
Sanchez with a jab. Both land at the same time. Head kick attempt from Sanchez. Sanchez punches coming up short. He does then step into a right hand. However then Muradov lands a huge overhand right of his own and Sanchez’s legs almost completely give out under him.
Muradov charges at him with a flying knee and then starts unleashing punches against the cage and with Sanchez wilting the referee steps in to end the fight, giving Muradov a big TKO finish at 2.59mins of the third round.
