UFC 133 has suffered yet another injury setback today with the news that Vladimir Matyushenko has pulled out of his preliminary bout with Alexander Gustaffson.

Stepping in at short notice to replace Matyushenko will be Matt Hamill who’ll be looking to make amends for a disappointing display against Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in his last Octagon outing.

The light-heavyweight bout between Matyushenko and Gustaffson had originally been earmarked as one of two featured bouts on Spike TV’s hour long prelim show on August 6th, and given that Hamill is a well known face that’s unlikely to change.

Earlier today Dana White had revealed that if Tito Ortiz had not stepped up to face Rashad Evans in the main event of the same card then Matyushenko would have been the next fighter he would have offered the opportunity to given his recent 5-1 record, but as fate would have it it seems he wouldn’t have been able to accept the fight anyway.
