With Kenny Florian withdrawing from UFC: Fight For The Troops 2 (AKA UFC Fight Night 23) due to a knee injury the promotion have moved swiftly to draft Melvin Guillard in as his replacement according to Heavy.com.
Guillard had originally been expected to face Yves Edwards at the event, but instead he’s now been promoted to main event status to take on Evan Dunham.
‘The African Assassin’ is currently on a three fight winning streak in 2010 and is now training under Greg Jackson as he looks to take his career more seriously and push for title contention at 155lbs.
Meanwhile Evan Dunham is one of the division’s most promising young talents, and is looking to get back to winning ways after suffering the first defeat of his twelve fight career, a controversial split decision loss to former champion Sean Sherk.
UFC: Fight For The Troops 2 takes place on January 22nd in Texas and will raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
